HPE and Juniper's partner programmes become one on 1 November. For partners it means new incentives and competency rewards. For channel teams on both sides, it means change.
On 1 November 2026, the HPE and Juniper Networks partner programmes become one: HPE Partner Ready Vantage. HPE announced the change at HPE Discover in June, alongside new incentives, including up to 24% total margin on competitive storage takeouts and competency-based financial rewards that extend beyond medallion status. Some products, including SimpliVity PC1000, Private Cloud PC3000 and Zerto, became channel-only for new business from 1 July.
Speaking to MicroScope in August, Charlie Tunley, HPE's UK and EMEA channel partner ecosystem director, confirmed 1 November as "Partner Day One", with the partner sales team geared up for HPE and Juniper cross-selling.
What it means for talent
Two channel organisations becoming one
Whenever two vendors combine their partner programmes, they typically also combine the teams that run them: channel account managers, partner marketing, programme operations and enablement. Where both businesses cover the same partners or territories, roles overlap. HPE has not announced any changes to its channel headcount, but this is the point in an integration when teams tend to be reshaped.
For the wider market, that often means experienced channel professionals, particularly those with networking and partner programme backgrounds, become open to new opportunities over the months that follow. Vendors building or expanding UK channel teams should be paying attention.
Competency rewards put a premium on certified people
Rewarding partners for competencies, not just revenue tier, changes what partners need to hire. A reseller that wants the financial benefits needs engineers certified in the competencies HPE rewards, such as virtualisation and GreenLake Flex Solutions, alongside strong networking skills. Those people were already in demand. A programme that pays partners for holding them adds to the pressure.
Cross-selling needs hybrid skills
One of the expected benefits of the combined programme is cross-selling between the HPE and Juniper portfolios. Partners that grew up on one side of the house will need sellers and pre-sales architects comfortable on both. That hybrid profile is rarer than either skill set alone.
What to do now
If you're an HPE or Juniper partner: audit your certifications against the new competency requirements now, before 1 November. Where you have gaps, decide whether to train existing engineers or hire, and allow for the fact that certified networking and storage people take time to find.
If you're a partner that sells one side only: identify which sellers and pre-sales staff could credibly cover both. Invest in them first. They are also the people competitors will try to hire.
If you're another vendor building a channel team: changes like this can release good people into the market. Be ready with a clear role and a compelling story when they start looking.
If you work in an HPE or Juniper channel team: the combined organisation will need people who understand both programmes and both partner communities. That knowledge is valuable, inside the business or elsewhere.
